Most of our knowledgeable history seems to be comprised within the astrological era known as the Age of Pisces. Pisces is the most mystical of all astrological signs, which is also the last of the twelve (12) signs carrying elements of each sign. Pisces is also one of the more emotional signs, where although they may not externally express as such, they often may have an internal calamity going on. Nonetheless, as the term mystical implies, this was the era of mystery. Like all mystery stories, we go through a build up in anticipation for the climactic end. Like all "good" mystery stories, we expect the climactic end to disclose all that was left a mystery. We expect the dissolution of ignorance. Throughout the Age of Pisces and it's predecessor Age of Aries, religion/spirituality seems to have carried a dual aspect. Such is expressed as the teachings provided to the masses, the "exoteric", as well as the teachings kept of the hidden few, the "esoteric". In most traditions, the language of the official religious/biblical text was preserved in a particular language to keep the uneducated masses from actually discerning the script for themselves. It is also my understanding that the time of Moses may be considered the end of the Age of Aries and the beginning of the Age of Pisces. As Moses first climbed Mt. Sinai, he was provided with particular knowledge from his deity, which some claim to have been the Qabalah. When he initially returned to his people, he noticed that they were still worshiping the Ram (most sources say Golden Calf). The Ram being the symbol of Aries, Moses believed his people were not ready for the obtained information, where he returned to Mt. Sinai after shattering the tablets of information. In other words, while Moses was attempting to usher in a new age, the people were still clinging to the old. Hence, Moses returned again to his people with strict laws dictating obedience as opposed to mystical insight, where he chose to divulge the hidden information only to a chosen few. (I don't remember the source of this information). The Age of Pisces may be best represented by the Christ figure, whose religious emblem was that of the fish, a symbol for Pisces. The Age of Pisces being mystical, this was a time of the mystics who held the esoteric knowledge and would divulge such information. Nonetheless, this was also a time where the the extensive libraries, including Alexandria, including those scriptures preserved in Tibet, and the 53 mile long shelving of the Vatican/Secret Archive library, where kept in secrecy from the public purview. Now with the idea of mystery in mind, one has to ask why an organization like the Catholic Church, a religion which keeps its followers within the four corners of ONE book (similar to "parole evidence" in practicing law), would hold such an extensive library? In addition, the mystics which brought the most enlightening information to the masses were quickly opposed by those in political/religious power, with Jesus and Siddharta Guatama coming to mind. Hence, the Age of Pisces was the age of a few Mystics who would dispel the Mystery. In the East, we called these individuals "Gurus", with "Gu" meaning "ignorance" and "Ru" meanding destroyer, the "destroyer of ignorance". Hence, this was an age where we had to sort through the Mystery to discover Truth. As many new agers are propounding, we are either at the cusp of or within the Age of Aquarius with Aquarius representing freedom. This is the age where we are to do away with Gurus, where knowledge seems to be freely accessible. This seems to becoming more and more evident with the advent of the internet ushering in the "age of information" as well as social media quickly dispelling the elite owned corporate media. With the axiom "as within, so without" and vice-versa, if we are dispelling ignorance externally, then there is most likely an equivalent inner illumination going on as well. Therefore, I seem to define the Age of Aquarius as not necessarily getting rid of the Gurus/Teachers, but minimizing the need for such where the dissolution of ignorance, externally as well as internally regarding the more subtle realms, creates a different environment. An environment where we are done pursuing our Truth and moving in a direction of living it. We are bridging Heaven on Earth. It's the illumination/dissolution of ignorance and living our Truth.
