In order to potentiate the experience, the ego-identity should be subdued to allow transmutation. In other words, our head can't get in the way, a typical problem that arises in attempting to unite with something more expansive. Hence, a practice geared towards stillness is key, where in order to experience the expansiveness of spirit, ego-death (removing the human/animal identity) is needed to experience a broader state of awareness. These states of consciousness are significantly broader than human constructs. Hence, typical traditional, cultural, and societal beliefs, all designed to manage our material world, hinder our conception of the spiritual world. That is why in Hinduism, four stages of life are depicted, with the first two stages geared towards management of the material world (including religion), and the last two stages geared towards discovering "Self". Hence, the final two stages are geared towards hermitage (getting away from society, tradition, culture), then as a wandering ascetic (to teach what has been experienced in a materially detached manner). Jesus, Siddhartha, and Mohammed practiced such hermitage, where what was learned was dispensed to the public thereafter. Do note, that none of these three taught or fully expressed themselves before their hermitage experience, nor were they attached the material world thereafter. In order to understand spirit, what we know of and understand spirit to be needs to be diminished, where knowledge is also considered maya, an illusion. Those that have pierced beyond the veil, speak of it in terms above Chuck Palahniuk's "Fight Club", where it is not that you can't talk about it, it's more like there are no vocabulary terms to describe it, as it is simply an experience. Hence, terms like Brahman and the Tao are used to describe this expanse, but feels unknowable by the definitions provided by our masters. Even the term "Allah", which is an Arabic generic term for "God" used before Islam, and used today by Christians in the middle-east, means "No-Thing", as in the indescribable beyond the tangible world of form. Hence, once the tangible is blown-out, Nirvana, what remains is the experience of the formless, Samadhi.
Most exoteric religions and their practices fall under dualist teachings, the right hand path. Duality, or Dvaita-Vedanta beliefs are that we have an individual soul that is separate from the almighty soul aka God. Because of the separation, the human containing the soul has to follow righteous disciplines in order to purify oneself in order to liberate the soul. This is where concepts of morals, ethics, etc., all come into play creating external practices to avoid or cleanse oneself of "sin". However, the majority of tantrik practices are non-dualist teachings, the left hand path (Within the left hand path, you have another grouping of right-hand/left-hand which is more akin to light/dark, hence, high tantra and low tantra). Nonduality, or Advaita-Vedanta holds that the individual spirit known as Atman is not separate, but the same as Brahman. As described in the Upanishads as well as the Shaivas practical text the Vijnanabhairava, Atman is like the air inside of a jar, and Brahman is the air outside of the jar. Hence, the whole purpose of higher tantrik practices is to associate with the air within and around the jar as opposed to the jar itself. In the material world, our culture, traditions, societal structures, our learning, etc., is all associated with the jar. By identifying with the jar, what many label as the "ego", we perceive our relative existence with limitations, all of which have been defined and created by society. Hence, our minds become completely associated with the jar, and those of the dualist path seek external guidance [Deity(ies), Angels, Etc.]. We've (as in our Spirit) has gotten completely lost in the realm of matter, in the realm of separation, that even many in Advaita-Vedanta (including myself) use separate spiritual guidance to tap into one's own inner resonance. It's like dualist teachings are a stepping stone to recognize our connection with everything, the "all that is" permeating from source. Again, so why the odd practices? To realize Advaita is to realize that spirit is always pure and pristine despite what occurs in matter. In other words, our soul has always been and remains untainted, despite what occurs in the material realm of density. Nonetheless, we're so psychologically ingrained with dualist cleansing teachings of pure and impurities, that "extreme" practices are needed in order for one to realize that Brahman still flows through you as it flows through all, within this illusory game that we're all playing (Maya-Lila). Add law of attraction beliefs in the mix where beliefs manifest in the material realm, imagine the experience one creates for his/herself with constantly labeling and believing oneself to be a "sinner". The majority of us walk around with such sentiments, not knowing that such beliefs manifests itself through our experiences. So long as one seeks "Self", the Brahman behind the jar labelled as Atman, sin is an illusory construct that must be removed not just consciously, but subconsciously, which becomes difficult given that Yogis (meditators; consciousness explorers) have realized that the subconscious is also tied to the collective conscious. Hence, the need for odd external practices are for those that cannot remove the psychological guilt of sin, shame, etc., that has been forced upon our psyche from birth (and prior life-times) given the dominance of dualist teachings, and the elites attempt to manage humanity.

Law of Attraction: Law of Attraction teachings disclose that in order to attract an object or circumstance into one's life, one has to match that frequency. That frequency is found through our own vibrations indicated by our emotional body. In other words, FEEL like you have already accomplished obtaining the object or circumstances, and FEEL into as much as possible. In other words, imagine the life you desire, and FEEL into it to trigger your emotional body. Emotions tends to follow thought patterns, where if one feels angry, angry thoughts will follow, if feeling happy, happy thoughts will follow. Hence, when you FEEL into what you are trying to attract, your emotional body will also trigger your Psyche, including any blockages that inhibit manifestation. Mantra: Shivoham is also a mantra, where mantra is derived from the word manas or mind. Hence, the use of mantras triggers a re-calibration of thoughts, and directs focus. To place the Law of Attraction technique above with the chosen mantra is a powerful tool to becoming closer to Shivoham, or another deity of choice. To vibrationally match the deity of choice by understanding and embodying His/Her mythology and maintaining focus through the use of mantra, well, you're bound to at least feel something shifting. Blockages: To embody a deity through the use of imagination can raise all sorts of blockages. One such blockage as found throughout our societies is a manipulative and domineering understanding of humility. Raised in a Hindu household, we've bowed to everything, honored numerous external things as sacred, and certain things can create offense such as trimming a tulsi (holy basil) plant to some. Raised in Christian education, we were constantly told to repent because we are sinners, told that we're unworthy, etc. Under the Law of Attraction, if you're holding a sense of sinful unworthiness or the likes, you may be just further distancing yourself from your divinity, where such ideas and emotions arise when attempting to embody the feeling of the divinity. When such blockages arise, it screws up the meditation where thoughts of unworthiness from a false understanding of humility arise. Meditation: Nonetheless, there are techniques to bypass the blockages. For example, in my meditations to Kali, the divine Mother, I would initially approach her as a child. She's called the Mother for a reason where under this symbol, she's been very easy to approach. It's much easier to imagine oneself as a child then it is to imagine oneself as Shiva. From what I've found, approaching Kali with an ego-identity is the quickest way to trigger her fiercer aspects, though it has its benefits where she assists in clearing. Though to approach her as an equivalent, as Shiva, and vice-versa, to approach Shiva as Kali, well, I'll just say that's a climactic vibration, one that can be felt in the spine. After writing this, I probably should say to approach her as a child, then your ego-self and let her do her work, then Shiva. Hence, in approaching the divine, if it's difficult to place worth on the ego-identity, then choose the divine within, the self-luminous light of consciousness that remains unblemished, to shine forth and match that vibration that you're trying to bridge. Be forewarned, this technique is powerful, so I should provide a warning. To reach for the divine is to unravel the ego-identity, which is everything that you thought you were. iShiva!
The ancient teaching spoke of the unification between the opposites. Not of the good and evil variety, but of positive and negative magnetic forces, of the masculine with the feminine, the yang with yin, the lingam with the yoni, Shiva with Shakti. Within that balance flows harmony, Ananda, the Tao. Within our subtle body lies the ida (feminine) and pingala (masuline) nadi's, energetic channels that separate and combine with each chakra point leading to the third eye. Our third eye is positioned centered between the hemisphere's of our brain, that would be our masculine logical left brain and our feminine creative right brain. Here, we meet the balance of our polar opposites, where we meet ourSelf that feels like a rush flooding downwards through the crown chakra, redoing, remapping, reprogramming everything that we thought ourselves to be. It's where we deconstruct the paradigm instilled within us from being engaged with our senses, and meet something that has been lingering within us beyond our mental facilities. The divine couple is Shiva and Shakti, the magnetic attraction between the positive and negative electrical charge within us that our ego-identity has forgotten and has accidentally attempted to separate. Not only has the divine couple manifested itself externally through magnetic forces, through animalistic attraction, through our ancient stories of divine couples, but also through our own psychology as further articulated in the ancient traditions of Shiva and Shakti. Shiva: Shiva is defined as prakasha, or the light of consciousness. In other words, Shiva is the psychological ability to be "aware". Awareness is mental virginity, or Kumari, the ability to be simply "aware" unstained from any thought-constructs, which include ideas, opinions, beliefs, formulations, etc. Awareness is to be in the complete state of Now, fully present to your experience without clouding it with any ideas and perspectives. To be fully present, is to be able to engage with what you perceive from a completely fresh perspective. To be fully present with everything occurring externally and emotionally internally, we recognize our existence (sat) within the universe. Shiva is our ability to perceive (chit) within the universe. Shakti: Shakti is defined as Mahamaya, or the grand illusion, which is, all that which is perceived. Hence, she is the Mother of our universe. Our universe is created through matrika (term used to identify Sanskrit), or motherly vibrations that creates and destroys universes. Everything is energy, where energy is simply mass multiplied by the speed of light squared (E=m c2) . In other words, that which we perceive, mass, is simple energy divided by the speed of light squared (E/c2 = m). It's because of this energy, this shakti, this prana/chi, the way she moves and vibrates through space-time that we have the Universe and all within it which we perceive. In the Tripura Rahasaya: Secrets of The Supreme Goddess, Shiva is defined as "awareness" and Shakti is defined as "witness". Shiva is our ability to perceive, where Shakti gives us something to perceive, including our faculties of perception. One is the light of consciousness where the other is the vibration of consciousness, for the two are actually one. To worship a divinity is to bring oneself closer to that divinity through what we call love, hence, our concepts of bhakti, devotion, etc. To worship Shiva-Shakti, is to understand and bring oneself closer to understanding our own abilities of being "aware" and "witnessing" the universe, to bring devotion/bhakti/love to that which we perceive as well as our ability to perceive. In worshiping Shiva, embody the Mother of the Universe and attract the attention of Shiva for She is constantly trying to attract our attention with her Illusion. In worshiping Shakti, embody Shiva, the ability to be aware and fall in love with the present moment that the Illusion has provided you. For isn't this what we are, a psychological dance between our mental/sensory faculties and things that we perceive. Isn't that what it means to be the divine couple internally, to fuse the opposite mental faculties within us, and engage our paradigm from a higher perspective, one with cosmic awareness and cosmic creative abilities. Isn't this accomplished through what we call divine love? To unite Shiva with Shakti is part of the tradition that believes in romance of the divine couple. To understand the romance that we ourselves create with that which we perceive. It's the ability to be at an emotionally vibratory state of complete love and completion within. It's the sensation of fulfillment, where nothing more is required. It's to realize that you are the Dance of the Universe occurring within the Universe.
Through active meditation, where I attempt embody and strengthen my ability to love, to love loved ones, to love strangers, to love enemies, to love the animate and inanimate, to love the infinite cosmos in all Her glory, and to fully realize the love I have of myself (which is naturally always there under all of the karmic filters I've placed on myself), do I seek to source and embody my highest vibration. This is the ability to love All That IS, and I mean all of it! To love the ups and downs, to love each transient experience. This is the state required to obtain rainbow light body of the Tibetan masters. It is also the state of firing up the Egyptian Merkaba. Take a few deep breaths and try to relax as much as possible. Let go of your story-line that holds you within your body by relaxing each area of your body, relax each of your chakra areas, and recognize that you are the space within and around each of your atoms spreading way beyond your physical form. Just breath into yourself as much as possible, in the most relaxing way possible. Fill yourself up with air starting from your pelvic floor and reaching slowly up to, and out of, your crown. Feel it tingling all throughout your core, your neck and head, and out through your limbs. Do what you need to do to get you into that meditative mood, where breathe is more natural to the point where thoughts tend to subside. Feel the love that deeply resides in your heart. If you've accepted a particularly divinity in your life that you feel can provide you with unconditional love, reach for that being within your heart. For me, it is the Divine Mother, the womb of the cosmos that I visually craft as the Egyptian sky Goddess, Nuit (Night). Reach for that unconditional love that slumbers deep within your heart. Connect your heart to your third-eye, the area within the center of your head with a golden cord. Feel the loving vibrations first begin to pump from your heart into your third eye area. (Should this get too intense: 1) limit the vibes going to your third-eye; or 2) connect the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth and imagine the sensation moving down from your head through your tongue, into your throat, and down into your lower dan tien below your navel). Take your time and keep breathing into accepting this unconditional love within, where you will further now spread the love from your heart outwards penetrating into each of your atoms. If you can't love yourself, then imagine your chosen divinity loving each of your atoms. While this love is felt emotionally within your being, in order to increase the vibration, feel that love extending to your loved ones, to your strangers, to things in life that you find beautiful, such as nature herself and her wonderful creatures. One of the creatures that I truly enjoy on this planet are dogs, where I feel unconditional love, a love that requires no story or status or achievement. When I get to spend some time with these creatures, I can emotionally feel myself moving into a brighter happier state of being. They also have an "awww" factor that further invigorates my emotional vibrations. So find your loving "awww" vibration and blend that with your love. As you blend that emotional construct within your being, be in a courageous no-fear zone, one that has the ability to let things that trigger you dissolve, and send out love to those things in life that you find difficult to forgive, to forget, and to overall love. Send love to those that have hurt you, that have controlled you, that have dominated you, and let the unconditional love of your divinity slumbering within the caverns of your heart dissolve all emotional triggers with those memories, ideologies, and beliefs/thoughts. This may take some time, this may take some pain, this may take some faith either in your divinity or within your own Self. You're basically using neuro-linguistic programming to color, negate, release memories that cloud up your being. You're releasing karma, you're letting things go. Once you're ready to move on, push that love out into and onto Mother Earth, your cosmic spaceship who is also alive and brimming with known and unknown life. From the Earth, spread the love out into the galaxy to the planetary solar system. Feel the blessings of each planetary consciousness and the energy of the Sun, our symbol for the infinite light of consciousness. Send the Sun love for having the ability to brighten up your day. From here, move into as many galaxies as one can imagine and keep expanding your awareness to encompass all of the cosmos and everything you can possible imagine. Then flip the script. Imagine that, and more so know that, all of the cosmos is beautifully alive and within you. See "all of it" within your own skin, within and encompassing the depths of your inner being. For you are the microcosm of the macrocosm, the as above so below, as within so without.
Vibrate Love and Light, Be love and light.
Given the advent of the internet and the widespread sharing of information outside of limiting media sources, there's a plenitude of individuals claiming to be "awake". Whether it is awake to the corruption of our social-economic structures ranging from our political circus to religious dogmatism, or spiritually awake in the sense to knowledge of the "third-eye". Given that I am first and foremost a seeker, particularly one that felt the qualms of society and religion at a very early age, I have never been quite satisfied with any information obtained, especially without resulting experiences. Even from the most followed gurus, I felt there is always more, and I want the fastest route possible. Nonetheless, I don't think there is an "awakened" state, other then from our current human condition. But, there seems to be a perpetual "awakening", a reason to spiritually exist. A desire that seems to never be quenched. Meditation, mixed with decades of diving into numerous esoteric and mystical texts, has screwed up my psyche to the point where I don't really relate to much of the masses. Particularly beginning with my ego-death experience back in early 2015, everything my two-eyes seem to perceive feels illusory. It's like watching a movie filled with characters acting our their ego-script, especially when knowing one's astrology. The veil over my intuition, or curtain covering the "behind the scenes" is still there, probably so that I don't immediately give up on the script, and further keeps my journey relevant. Nonetheless, not only do I feel that those around me are acting out of script (either astrology, societal beliefs, or parental instilling, etc), but I have since sought to manipulate my own psyche, and potentially undo my ego-script. As Bentinho Massaro stated, in-line with our ancient metaphysical texts, "consciousness creates the body, the body does not create consciousness". Hence, I should be able to manipulate my own consciousness, where I seek to undo conditioning that appears to limit what I believe myself capable of being. My meditation experiences have continually affected the way I perceive this dimension with my two-eyes. Because of such perception, I see people so engaged in their roles, in their beautiful desire to serve or manipulate, but I feel that many miss a bigger picture. This feeling stems from my perception of this engagement as an illusion. It's like waking up from a nighttime dream, do I sit and think to myself that I could have done better in that dream, or do I take whatever symbolism I can remember and try to gain wisdom and move on. It's a sense of detachment. Same with this dimension perceived with my two-eyes, is death a waking up from this dream? When I die to this dream, am I going to have regrets of not serving enough, or doing the best I can, or do I perceive it the way I would with my nighttime dream? With a sense of detachment. Every mystical text and organization that I have found has stressed the "awakening" to be Self-Realization, or awakening the ego-identity to the Higher Self. To remove the "I" identity for a "Universal" identity, and quite possibly something beyond the Universe (Brahman). No doubt, my ego-death experience discussed above placed me in a position where I felt like I was a Universe of many different star systems, where my individual identity was merely a clay pot attempting to be something. In such experience, everyone that I attempted to remember and perceive felt like a moving clay version of a Van Gogh painting. To bridge that Universal identity with this clay pot seems to be the goal of bridging to Higher Self, or to be "aware" while conscious, sleep, and deep sleep (unconscious) as defined as Turiya in the Siva Sutras. Such state of being is placing one in a complete state of "awareness" void of thought, one which is brought about through the Goddess energy residing at the base of the spine who assists in clearing the delusory and limiting faculties of the psyche. To attain such clarity of the ever-present Now moment, is the pulling in of Higher Self energy. Hence, to awaken appears to be so much more than the simple corruptions of our world, which are most likely there as obstacles to keep us desiring and/or striving for more. From a loving perspective, the evils we see are most likely a beautiful purging of our shadow side lost in our psyche that plagues our ego-identity, when truly viewing the Universe and all Her counterparts as a mirror reflection of our own consciousness. This is why Tibetan Buddhist stress compassionate loving for all, for to attain rainbow light body status, you must realize that all is a reflection of the one infinite Self, for the Highest Self is one. Therefore, to truly awaken seems to be defined as walking among the delusion as the Higher Self bridged with ego-identity, and thus creating a beautiful illusion, or a Lila as described in Hinduism. To sum it up, we're either coming from a place of mindful pure "awareness", which is Higher Self energy, or we are coming from a place clouded by opinions, judgments, and thoughts, which is ego-identity. The more we bridge into the state of simple "awareness", we obtain clarity from the resistance of our ego-identity and expand our ability to be "aware", or awaken to so much more that can be described as "cosmic consciousness". What's the next awakening beyond that? Well that beats me and I'm assuming that is something that can't be fully described through "human" faculties, but I feel exists. Nonetheless, allow me to take this one-step at a time. When we dissolve the "I", the subconsciousness becomes consciousness. Enlightenment (Buddha) When I meditate, I try to invoke the divine apsect of my choice. Practicing Advaita Vedanta, that choice has been "Shiva", or "Awareness". The "awareness" that arises being in a place of stillness, of no thought, is my attempt to become Lord Shiva, the master of consciousness. Lingering in this state of mind, with Mt. Kailash (stillness) under me, my emotions-thoughts (moon) under control, resting in the purity flowing through me (Ganga), fully in awareness of the three states of consciousness (Trishul: Awake, Sleep, Deep Sleep), is my third-eye open (Shiva), and my chaotic heart (Kali/Dark Nature) content (Parvati/Light Nature). That is when I am awake, aroused, and in love (Shiva-Lingam/Shakti-Yoni). My ego is left as a corpse (shava), as I engage my Higher Self (Shiva/Awareness). Conduct (Dharma) Tapping into my inner divinity, I'm left slightly on the arrogant tip. I'm awake, aroused, and ready to conquer my hearts desire. That is to walk like a God/Goddess among Men/Women. To walk in Dharma, the way Krishna played through his many philosophical adventures. And so I said to myself, "Let's see, what shall I do first? Ahhh, let me see if there is a female equivalent that I may walk this path with. Wait, there she is! However, she's made me suffer in waiting for her. Though the suffering was necessary, to relinquish from my ego-identity that which does not serve the "all that is", I'm still a bit heart-broken and would like to see her struggle a little bit." Yeah, lets just say that was a major fuck-up to challenge the Goddess, especially when my attachment is to Kali. Kali is the one that doesn't waste time and get's to the point. Yes, she yelled at me, and it wasn't fun. But you know what? She's cute when she's angry! Correct Thought (Sangha) Nonetheless, she is my teacher, my gu-ru, my destroyer of ignorance. I had to learn what she needed to teach me. So place yourself in the position of an Indian child getting yelled at by angry Indian Mother. Multiply that sensation a couple hundred times. It would be like sitting in the middle of an amphitheater within your head, and you're sitting in the chair of your pineal gland. She's scary, and she basically told me the difficulty my ego will have to face to come even close to Her. She basically yelled, "Are you fucking kidding me? I have to "struggle" to get to little ole you? Do you realize the significance, the strength required to step into the shoes that you're attempting? I am the feminine infinite complexity that encompasses your entire field of "awareness". I am the illusion, and I the one to liberate you from the illusion by slicing your ego. I am the yin and your yang is merely a corpse without me. It is through your desire for me that your yang is awakened, not vice-versa. I am that desire, and I am fulfillment of that desire. And when you're actually/really awakened...oh you will see what will be required of you, to be the divine masculine (Shiva/Awareness). You are to infuse me, the divine feminine (love) with you (awareness). To do that, you would have to be in-love with all that which you are aware of, the light and the dark. After all, it's all just our story, our play (Lila). Don't you realize that's why we're praised by the saints (Devas) and the sinners (Asuras). My love, don't you know that we are the Cosmos." Conclude:
Yep, leave it to a women to always put me in my place. Nonetheless, I'm in love with Her and wouldn't have it any other way. I'm elated I'm one-step closer to fully-being with Her. Now to shine bright like a lemurian quartz crystal. Sati is practice in Hinduism (not by the ancients), where a widow will place herself within the funeral pyre of her beloved. Though a violent practice that has been dogmatically followed, it nonetheless holds some deep philosophical truths that I have not seen expressed anywhere else. Sati was not an ancient Hindu practice, but seems to begin at the time of Islamic invaders. The conquering Muslims would invade kingdoms and ask for two things: 1) the temples; and 2) the women. Credit given to these women, they took their lives as opposed to serving a foreign family and a foreign god. Nonetheless, the painful tradition carried on due to harsh patriarchal influences. In the ancient stories, Shiva is the original masculine. Defined in the ancient tantras as "awareness", Shiva is the bridge between the Para-Brahman "non-awareness" reality, and the material world of samsara. His consort is Shakti, the energy which creates the fabric of space and time for the material world to exist. She is defined in the ancient tantras as "witness" as she is the ability to create linearity and thus, our story-line. From Shakti is the Universe/World created. Because the Universe is her offspring, she also had to dive-in with her children and get lost in samsara, for the sake of saving her children.
Against her father's wishes, Sati comes across Shiva and is completely enamored, I mean love-struck. From here we get the story of Sati's emotional battle between her romantic appeal Shiva and her father Daksha. With Daksha, she is to be the proper daughter as propagated by Brahmanic culture. With Shiva, to be with Shiva, she is to move beyond the cultural norms to recognize her true potential as Shakti, which may includes anti-Brahmanic practices including the panchamakarmas. Nonetheless, to recognize her essence as Shakti, she needed to move beyond the ego identity. However, Sati's situation was too dense where, because of her father's opposition to Shiva, she sacrificed her ego-identity with her inner-fire. Hence, to liberate herself she realized that her ego-identity must be subdued, which would have caused numerous cultural difficulties being the daughter of the propagated of the first three Vedas. She can be either of the world (ego) and provide cultural governance, or she can be the infinite (Self) recognizing that one too must be liberated from the world, from culture.
